It's been a while since I played, and I just got a mid-range GPU that was
better than anything available when HL2 was published, so I'm giving it
another run through with everything cranked up to max, and enjoying the
scenery.

So in this house, it's still radioactive.

Well I can't blame you for thinking so.

If we base Half-life's popularity on the activity in this newsgroup
then there is clearly a decline. I put this down in part to the
failure of HLDM and the delay in the development of the new Half-life2
mods. In addition there have been several very popular multi-player
FPS'ers of late and I think a lot of good single player games get
carried between installments by their multiplayer spinoffs.

In this regard Half-life 2 has failed. Mind, Half-life3 EP 2 may open
some eyes.

A quick google search show's he's posted 38 times in the last week to
about 38 groups, asking an 'amusing' question in each. He won't be
back, given that there are thousands of other targets for his unique

Have you tried the Zombie Mod for CS:S? It's gobs of fun, especially on
some of the smaller unlimited ammo servers.

If we disregard what you've said. Which, in all honesty is enjoyably
easy to do! - I'd consider that the question is still an open and fun
question to answer. It's got responses and posting in this group and
it even got your fat wrinkly ass out of WoW and back in a real
community.
