Hmm... invasion of the body snatchers?
What happened to the REAL Strider? Not this maturity thing I would hope. =)

You were indeed - sign of sophistication that I met you at a coffee shop
rather than a pub... I don't even remember you being particularly blotto
at the Wendy House! You even went home at a civilised hour while we went
hunting for kebab shops in Leeds city centre...

He'd have made it over to the last Leeds gathering, but had to work
early the next day, or something. Plus, he spends all his time in WoW,
and rarely ventures out into the more unpredictable world of usenet...

Hey, that makes me feel bad. :(

Just to set the record straight, I unsubscribed from AGHL because I was
busy moving to Chicago and going back to school for a year, so I made a
clean break with AGHL at the same time; nuthin' whatsoever to do with
any discussion threads back then. I enjoyed participating in the daily
conversation in AGHL, but it was taking up an inordinate amount of my
time.

Strider emailed me asking about guitar (an instrument I know little
about, unfortunately) and mentioned this thread. I just did a "vanity
search" for my name in the AGHL archives, and it appears an offhand
snarky comment I made three years ago has taken on a life of its own.
For that, my apologies, Neil.

'Course, your taste in movies IS a little too refined for your own good.

And thus three years later, he riseth once more, and lo, the trolls were

Anything that keeps Jones's head to manageable proportions should not be
discouraged dude. You should have perpetuated the myth.

Ok, well I hope you're settled in your new home because I personally
would like to see you posting back here again.
Admittedly there isn't a great deal of stuff Half-life related to
discuss at the moment and I will admit for a game which has been out for
several years Half-life2 hasn't produced as many mods as I had
predicted/hoped for.

Portal and TF2 should prove to be very interesting but we have to wait
until the 3rd quarter for that.

You might want to get all your shots first before playing with that
thing. =)
