Password managers can not only store your passwords and login accounts, but also safely store personal information. They are littered with features to make your online life easier. A good password manager should provides applications and tools to help manage passwords and login information, like saving personal data or credit card information, launching web site. And of course, it should also be secure enough to keep hackers out and passwords safe, like a strong password generator.
I recently tried a newly released password management program. This password manager is pretty easy-to-use and useful to the most inexperienced computer user. Here, I’d like to share ImVajra password manager with you guys.
First, install and launch ImVajra password manager.
This is the first interface you will see after launching. Click “OK” to open sample database, or just click “Cancel” to create your own one. Here I click “Cancel”. After that, the first thing we should do is to create a database.
1. Create database
Click “File” > “New Database” to open “Create Database” dialog box, in which you can choose to create new blank database, or create database with data file on sync server.
If you want to create a database with data file on sync server, enter the account, password, file name of the data file respectively and click “Next”. Otherwise, just go ahead. Set the storage location and file name for your database, and go on, then you will see three ways to log in your database.
One thing worthy speaking of is that ImVajra password manager enables you to login with flash disk, which is unique compared with other password management programs. Here you’d better check both to make your database safer. However, Login with USB flash disk only is not recommended for its risk, if you lost your USB flash disk or it’s broken, you may get some trouble.
After setting your password, go to the next step and complete your creation.
2. Create Record
Now what you need to do is to create record. If you want to classify your records, you can create a folder first. Click “New Record” button on the toolbar, name your record and select a record type for it. Click “OK”, and set a value for each field as follow.
ImVajra password manager provides lots of information fields for you to fill in. You can even add fields if needed, and save it as a template.
From the “Settings” tab, you can personalize your record skin. You can also use it as form filler. Check “allow to AutoComplete Form” to let the password management program fill in the web form with your information automatically when you visit a website by clicking the URL typed in your record. And you can even encrypt your record individually with password to make your data safer.
Surely, you can edit the record at any time by clicking “Edit” button on the toolbar or just double-clicking the record.
There are some highlights in this small tool.
1. Synchronize local data with server date
Click “Synchronize” button on the toolbar and follow the guides in the window above, you can upload local data with the data on your Gmail server. In this way, ImVajra password manager enables you to access and update your data anywhere.
2. Install to flash disk
With the “Install to Flash Disk” option on the “Tools” menu, you can install ImVajra Password Manager to flash disk and use it on any computer.
3. Generate strong password
Making your password strong and changing it regularly is the best way to protect your information. A strong password is at least six characters long, does not contain all or part of the user's account name, and contains at least three of the four following categories of characters: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, base 10 digits, and symbols found on the keyboard, such as !, @, and #.
ImVajra Password Manager can generate such password using encryption algorithms, to make your information hard to be detected both by humans or computer.
Click “Password Generator” on the toolbar, and check the items you want to include in your password, then a strong password is generated as showed. You just need to copy this complicated password as your record password, and let the password manager remember it for you.
On top of that, locating any record you want is easy to handle.
It’s a pity that this password manager can’t create user account. Even though, multi-users can still use one program to store their individual information just by using their own database and password separately without worrying about the security.
Now with ImVajra password manager, we no longer have to waste time trying to remember which password goes with which email account, bank account, online shopping account, online magazine and the many web-based services to which you're subscribed. Only remembering one password for all your online needs is everything.
